Wonderful Times (好好的时光)

Synopsis

In the late 1970s, Zhuang Xianjin (TIAN Yu), a factory worker with two sons and a daughter, married Su Xiaoman (MEI Ting), a dancer with a son and a daughter. The children from the two families, each with their own thoughts, acted out a thirty-year-long emotional drama with their parents. The eldest daughter, Zhuang Haohao, who had been the head of the household since childhood, was the “stabilizing force” of the two blended families.

From a tram ticket seller to a popular singer in a dance hall, she was like a wildflower on a mountaintop, growing tenaciously alongside her family, facing the sun. Zhuang Xianjin finally realized his dream of naming his child “Study Hard and Make Progress Every Day,” but the name Zhuang Xiangshang, which fulfilled his dream, became an unspoken “secret” between Zhuang Haohao and Su Xiaoman.

Zhuang Xuexi and Wang Yuanyuan were childhood sweethearts, but due to their parents’ marriages, they could only pass each other by. Liu Cheng, Zhuang Xianjin’s apprentice, pursued Zhuang Xianjin’s daughter Zhuang Haohao unsuccessfully, but instead married Su Xiaoman’s daughter.
